Sliding in at the last minute!!!!

I had such a long week this week! It was one of those weeks that seemed to last forever. I work at a preschool and if I left it at that then you probably wouldn't need any more explanation. Did I mention that I live in Colorado and that the weather here is crazy??? For example, we had hot sunny days and then frigid snowy ones back to back... twice this week. And let me further say that kids are like little barometers. You ask anyone who works with them for a living and they will tell you! Their little emotions go all over the place along with the weather. Seriously!
But sadly, my long week doesn't stop there. I ended up getting the flu this weekend (when the weather was beautiful) and had my feverish self in bed almost the whole time. That can really mess with you as days and nights get all messed up; I must've taken 5 naps yesterday alone and each time woke up wondering if it was morning again. Oh, don't worry. The time change sorted all that out for me! ;)
Anyway, I really wanted to try Papertrey Ink's Make it Monday Challenge. It was a one layer card that is easy to mail. I like the idea of that, truly I do. I just like adding lots of dimension to my cards. Lots of layers. So this was no easy task for me.

If you want to see the challenge then click here.

Here is my take on the challenge:

This is my one layer wonder. Ha! I don't really feel like this is my strength but I gave it a try... With no ribbons.... And no buttons.... And no die cuts....

As always, I enjoy looking at everyone else's cards. Mine looks like it was done by a preschooler. Maybe I'll have them help me next time I'm at work.

Thanks for stopping in.

PS I used papertrey's flutterby friends stamp set and used water colors to fill in the images.

  1. What pretty colours and I love how you framed the sentiment with the ferns. I know what you mean about layers - I think one layer cards are the hardest. Hope you feel better soon!
